Are you passionate about developing CAD automation solutions that improve engineering efficiency and quality?

Would you like to help shape standardized and scalable engineering design processes across a global organization?

Join our Engineering Team

Our engineering team develops innovative solutions that improve the efficiency, standardization, and quality of product development. We work collaboratively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Digital Technology to develop robust tools and processes that support our products throughout their lifecycle.

Fuel your passion

As a CAD Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting engineering automation solutions that improve design efficiency, standardization, quality, and scalability across the product lifecycle.

You will be developing master models, automated drawings, configurable CAD toolkits, and engineering standards, while supporting CAD governance and the integration between CAD and PLM systems. You will work closely with global multidisciplinary teams to reduce manual engineering effort and improve consistency, compliance, and design quality.

As a CAD Development Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading product standardisation activities and developing scalable CAD automation solutions that improve engineering productivity, quality, and consistency.
  • Developing, testing, implementing, and supporting parametric CAD models, master models, configurable drawings, and product configuration solutions using PTC Creo.
  • Creating and maintaining engineering toolkits, including standard parts, templates, material libraries, User Defined Features (UDFs), mapkeys, and automation utilities.
  • Identifying repetitive engineering activities and opportunities for automation and continuous improvement across engineering processes.
  • Supporting integration between CAD applications and PLM platforms to ensure effective management and utilisation of engineering data throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Digital Technology, global engineering sites, and product lines to establish harmonised CAD methodologies and standards.
  • Supporting CAD and PLM software upgrades, validation, regression testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and local engineering CAD activities.
  • Developing technical documentation, user guides, standards, training materials, and reporting automation benefits and adoption to support continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Have significant experience using PTC Creo within a mechanical engineering, design, or product development environment.
  • Have proven experience with advanced Creo functionality, including Pro/PROGRAM, Drawing Programs, Family Tables, Skeleton Models, Top-Down Design methodologies, Relations, Parameters, and UDFs.
  • Have strong knowledge of CAD automation principles and experience developing configurable CAD models, master models, templates, and engineering toolkits.
  • Have sound knowledge of engineering drawing standards, GD&T principles, and BS 8888 / ISO standards.
  • Have experience translating engineering and product requirements into scalable CAD solutions, automation tools, and design standards.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience identifying opportunities for engineering process improvement and automation.
  • Have experience working within multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with stakeholders across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Digital Technology.
  • Have excellent communication and technical documentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver technical solutions in a structured and methodical manner.

It would be advantageous if you:

  • Have experience with Creo Toolkit, J-Link, Object Toolkit, Creo API development, or other CAD customisation technologies.
  • Have knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, VB.NET, or C#.
  • Have knowledge of engineering data management, configuration management, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes.
  • Have experience with software testing, validation, release management, and enterprise CAD deployments or upgrades.
  • Have an understanding of manufacturing processes and how engineering automation can support downstream functions.
