We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead a complex, enterprise-wide SAP S/4HANA enhancement initiative within a sophisticated, cloud-based technology environment. This role will oversee project planning, governance, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder coordination across multiple interconnected business applications. You will bring together internal teams, system integrators, vendors, and business leaders to ensure project milestones and strategic objectives remain aligned. The position requires strong leadership, rigorous project controls, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams across cloud and on-premises environments. You will play a key role in delivering enterprise technology improvements while maintaining high standards of quality, communication, and accountability. Lead and coordinate internal teams, external partners, and vendors across multiple IT projects and workstreams.
Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project plans, schedules, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, cost estimates, risks, issues, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, including roles and responsibilities, escalation procedures, approval processes, and decision-making structures.
Plan and optimize resource allocation, capacity planning, and resource forecasting to support project delivery.
Collaborate with business owners, technical teams, project sponsors, vendors, and system integrators to define requirements and maintain alignment with project objectives.
Manage projects through all phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure.
Oversee vendor performance and maintain productive relationships with technology partners across cloud-based and on-premises environments.
Coordinate schedules, technical dependencies, and integration activities across SAP/ERP initiatives and connected enterprise applications.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, status reports, approvals, sign-offs, and required project management office (PMO) records.
Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks and bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to keep deliverables on track.
Provide regular project updates, executive-level reports, and presentations to ensure stakeholders have clear visibility into progress, risks, and decisions.
Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder discussions, and decision-making sessions to resolve issues and maintain alignment.
Conduct lessons-learned reviews and implement continuous improvement recommendations.
Ensure compliance with established PMO standards, project management procedures, and applicable IT policies.

Requirements

At least 10 years of project management experience delivering IT projects of varying sizes and complexity.
Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level projects involving scope, schedules, integrations, communications, vendors, risks, budgets, and resource planning.
Hands-on experience managing SAP/ERP projects or enterprise business solutions.
Proven ability to manage complex, high-profile vendors and technology partners across cloud and on-premises environments.
Experience overseeing multi-year projects and coordinating multiple concurrent workstreams.
Expert-level proficiency in creating and maintaining integrated project plans using Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Project Online.
Strong understanding of project governance, budget management, cost estimation, risk mitigation, and resource capacity planning.
Excellent leadership, conflict resolution, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication, documentation, and presentation abilities.
Ability to coordinate effectively with executive leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and system integrators.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain alignment with business objectives.

Preferred qualifications:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience leading SAP S/4HANA implementation, enhancement, or transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Datasphere, and SAP SuccessFactors.
Experience managing integrations across enterprise applications and third-party platforms.
Familiarity with formal PMO frameworks, project governance procedures, and standardized delivery practices.
Previous experience working with public-sector organizations or within transportation, infrastructure, or similarly complex enterprise environments.
