Join GreenSpace Recycling as a Route Operations Manager!

NO CDL REQUIRED

GreenSpace Recycling is looking for an Operations Manager to lead our Puget Sound team and strengthen day-to-day operations across the market.

This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground leadership role, not a desk-only management position. Successful candidates are comfortable working around trucks, dumpsters, and multifamily properties, handling fast-moving operational issues, and doing physical outdoor work in all kinds of weather.

The Operations Manager works directly with the field team: covering routes when needed, completing weekly ride-alongs, and owning scheduling, accountability, customer communication, and daily execution. Administrative and scheduling work may be done remotely, balanced with daily time in the field supporting the team and our customers.

About Us: GreenSpace Recycling provides professional waste remediation services to multifamily communities throughout California, Washington, and Oregon. With over 15 years of industry experience, we're committed to delivering sustainable solutions and improving our field operations and service quality. Our culture is rooted in authenticity, humility, and connection, and our close-knit team is dedicated to making a real environmental impact.

Days of Operation: Sunday–Thursday or Monday–Friday, generally 5 a.m.–5 p.m.

Availability and Requirements: This is a salaried, overtime-exempt position based in the Puget Sound area. Schedules vary with operational needs and will be discussed during the interview process.

Because this role provides direct field and route support and responds to time-sensitive service needs, the Operations Manager must be able to reach Puget Sound sites in approximately 30–45 minutes when on-site support is required. Response times may vary with traffic and operational demands. These expectations apply consistently to all candidates and team members in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily field operations to ensure service quality and efficiency
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and coach operations team members, including schedules and performance reviews
  • Cover open routes and complete weekly ride-alongs
  • Coordinate with leadership, field teams and support staff to meet client expectations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase safety and productivity
  • Monitor expenses, control costs, and report on operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT and OSHA safety standards, including regular safety audits
  • Handle escalated client issues and support operational growth and service expansion

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in business administration preferred
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role (at least 2 years of general management/supervisory experience)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled at identifying operational inefficiencies and improving field processes
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on field work with administrative responsibilities
  • Able to lift and move 50+ lbs, including furniture and appliances, and to climb, stoop, and walk throughout the day
  • Collaborative mindset that builds a positive, accountable team culture

Pre-Employment Requirements: All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of:

  • Employment reference and background check
  • Motor vehicle record (MVR) review
  • Drug screening
  • Any required medical certifications (such as a DOT medical card for drivers)

GreenSpace covers pre-employment/post-offer screening and certification costs.

Why GreenSpace? Our workforce spans several states, but our culture stays people-focused. We support each employee because every person contributes to our collective success.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $80,196–$90,000/yr
  • Medical (75% employer-paid for employees), dental, and vision
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k)
  • Hybrid role with a mix of administrative work-from-home time and daily field support
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development
