Platform Backend Engineers

• Strong fundamentals in backend engineering, including problem decomposition, data structures, low-level design, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience building and owning production-grade backend systems.
• Ability to explain system behaviour beyond the framework layer, including API design, database interactions, concurrency, and failure handling.
• Experience taking technical projects from initial design through production deployment and subsequent improvements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguous requirements without relying on predefined solutions.
• A practical, hands-on approach to engineering, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions, trade-offs, and production incidents.
• Experience working in a startup or similarly fast-paced environment where engineers are expected to take initiative and deliver end-to-end solutions.

• →Own platform capabilities end to end, from problem definition and architectural design to development, release, and continuous iteration.
• →Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and reusable execution patterns that other engineering teams can build upon.
• →Develop robust data models and handle concurrency, failure recovery, performance optimization, and observability.
• →Build and improve the frameworks used to develop, execute, and orchestrate AI agents.
• →Develop production-ready agent loops, tool integrations, orchestration mechanisms, and user-facing experiences built on agentic systems.
• →Translate ambiguous business and technical requirements into practical, maintainable engineering solutions.
• →Debug complex production issues, identify root causes, and improve system reliability based on real-world behaviour.
• →Make sound technical decisions around system design, APIs, databases, and underlying execution mechanisms.
• →Collaborate with product teams and other engineers to deliver reusable platform capabilities that support multiple downstream consumers.
• →Take ownership of production systems, monitor their performance, and evolve their architecture as requirements and usage change.
• →Communicate design decisions, trade-offs, implementation details, and technical challenges clearly across teams.

• Experience building developer platforms, workflow orchestration systems, or services consumed by multiple downstream teams.
• Familiarity with AI agent evaluation, tracing, tool integration, and cost-control mechanisms.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience designing reusable platform abstractions and execution frameworks.

4. Half-day in-office build exercise, where candidates can use AI tools of their choice and explain their implementation decisions.
