A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline.
Experience in software build deployments, containerization methodologies (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
Experience developing and deploying solutions in a team-based development environment using the Agile Scrum or Kanban framework.
Excellent communication, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Experience with agile management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and platforms (e.g., Docker, Ansible Tower, Artifactory, GitHub/BitBucket).
Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools for automating platform deployment pipelines.
Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
Ability to promote a culture of continuous learning, cross-team collaboration, and training.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

The Raytheon team is looking for a Platform Engineer to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world-class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers’ wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align with the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages, platforms, and deployment methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in platform engineering concepts, an eagerness to learn, the ability to work 100% onsite and collaboratively with a team, and an interest in complex, real-time, safety-critical systems.

The job location for this opportunity is in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

→Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering platform solutions for one of the MDS Department’s programs.
→Specific responsibilities include:
→Design, develop, and test platform solutions in an agile, collaborative environment.
→Debug existing platforms and correct deployment or configuration issues.
→Provide specific input to platform design, including hardware/software trade-offs, modularity, use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) components, and system-level requirements analysis.
→Implement recommendations for improving documentation, platform build processes, and deployment standards.
→Collaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless integration between platform solutions and application software.

→The workings of Missile Defense Systems and/or Command and Control (C2) Systems.
→How to develop, maintain, and deploy platforms supporting large-scale, complex software solutions in an agile environment.
→Tools and best practices associated with DevSecOps, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code.
