Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • →

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic problems on automated manufacturing equipment.

  • →

Work with AC/DC electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase motors, wiring, and power distribution.

  • →

Troubleshoot motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo drives, transformers, power supplies, and motor control circuits.

  • →

Identify failed electrical components and select appropriate replacements based on equipment requirements.

  • →

Use electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and diagnostic tools to isolate equipment failures.

  • →

Perform electrical testing using multimeters, clamp meters, insulation-resistance testers, and other approved testing equipment.

  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment using diagnostic tools, input/output status, alarms, and equipment operating sequences.

  • Diagnose issues involving human-machine interfaces (HMIs), sensors, switches, encoders, solenoids, and other automation components.

  • Troubleshoot industrial control circuits, including 24 VDC, 0–10 VDC, 4–20 mA, and PNP/NPN sensing applications.

  • Identify communication issues between PLCs, HMIs, drives, remote I/O, and other industrial automation devices.

  • Support PLC, HMI, and drive configuration or programming changes using established procedures.

  • Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on production equipment.

  • Install, wire, test, and replace motors, drives, electrical controls, and related components.

  • Troubleshoot machine safety systems, including emergency stops, interlocks, safety relays, and protective devices.

  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, commissioning, and startups.

  • Document electrical repairs, wiring changes, and equipment troubleshooting activities.

  • Partner with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to identify recurring failures and improve equipment reliability.

You'll have the opportunity to troubleshoot the electrical, electronic, and automation systems that power modern manufacturing equipment.

One day you might be diagnosing a motor or drive issue. The next, you could be tracking down a faulty sensor, investigating a PLC input, or troubleshooting a control circuit that's preventing equipment from operating.

We're looking for someone who wants to understand why equipment failed—not simply replace a component and move on.

From industrial motors and electrical controls to PLCs, HMIs, sensors, instrumentation, and automated equipment, this role offers a broad range of hands-on technical work.

We're interested in candidates with a strong foundation in industrial electrical systems, electronics, and equipment troubleshooting.

Requirements

~1 min read
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems and manufacturing equipment.

  • Working knowledge of AC/DC circuits, single-phase and three-phase power, motor wiring, and electrical controls.

  • Experience diagnosing electrical issues involving motors, drives, sensors, switches, and control circuits.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.

  • Experience using electrical testing equipment to diagnose faults safely and accurately.

  • Understanding of electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial electrical standards.

  • Technical education, apprenticeship training, military technical training, or relevant hands-on industrial experience.

  • PLC and HMI programming or advanced troubleshooting.

  • Experience with VFDs, servo systems, and industrial motor controls.

  • Troubleshooting analog and digital control signals, including 0–10 VDC, 4–20 mA, and PNP/NPN sensors.

  • Industrial Ethernet communication and network troubleshooting.

  • Experience with machine safety circuits, safety PLCs, and protective devices.

  • Electrical installation experience involving conduit, control panels, and industrial equipment.

  • Experience with SAP or computerized maintenance management systems.

  • Experience in high-volume or automated manufacturing environments.

Beyond technical ability, we're looking for someone who approaches equipment problems with curiosity, ownership, and a commitment to safety.

You'll be successful in this role if you:
