We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale a new cloud-based SaaS platform from the ground up, serving the welding and fabrication industry. In this role, you will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from initial design and development to deployment and production operations. Working within a small, experienced engineering team, you will collaborate closely with product leaders, software architects, customers, and external development partners. You will have the opportunity to shape engineering standards, improve development practices, and leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate innovation. Own the end-to-end delivery of software projects, transforming complex or ambiguous business challenges into actionable technical solutions.

Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based services, APIs, and web applications using Microsoft Azure, C#/.NET, and modern front-end technologies.

Collaborate with product teams to refine requirements, identify opportunities for simplification, and deliver effective solutions efficiently.

Engage with customers, support teams, and design partners to understand user needs and develop features that deliver measurable business value.

Review and improve code and technical designs produced by external development partners, ensuring high standards of quality, performance, and maintainability.

Establish and maintain production monitoring, alerting, documentation, and incident response procedures, including participation in on-call rotations and blameless postmortems.

Implement infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and appropriate security and compliance practices.

Develop prototypes and conduct technical experiments to validate new ideas and guide architectural decisions.

Mentor fellow engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.

Integrate AI-assisted development tools into everyday engineering workflows to improve productivity across design, coding, testing, and documentation.

Critically assess AI-generated code, stay informed about emerging AI technologies, and share best practices while ensuring compliance with internal AI usage policies.

Continuously improve software development, testing, deployment, and operational processes.

Requirements

At least 4 years of professional software development experience.

Proven experience building, deploying, and maintaining cloud-hosted applications or services in production environments, preferably using Microsoft Azure.

Strong proficiency in C#/.NET or another comparable modern programming language, with experience developing REST APIs and working with relational databases.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production monitoring.

Demonstrated ability to manage software delivery independently, navigate ambiguity, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve existing code, including AI-generated and externally developed solutions.

Professional experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude, with a clear understanding of their capabilities, limitations, and risks.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Experience with SaaS product development, including multi-tenant architectures and subscription-based platforms, is a plus.

Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Bicep or Terraform, as well as container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Azure Container Apps, is advantageous.

Experience collaborating with or reviewing the work of outsourced or contract development teams is desirable.

Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001, is beneficial.

Exposure to IoT, connected equipment, industrial systems, or manufacturing data is an advantage.

Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Blazor is preferred.

Experience developing AI-powered or LLM-integrated product features is a plus.

Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and delivery performance metrics, such as DORA, is desirable.

An interest in learning about welding, fabrication, and industrial manufacturing environments is appreciated.
