As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will spearhead the design and implementation of scalable backend solutions that power high-traffic applications. You will collaborate closely with product managers, frontend teams, and AI specialists to translate business goals into robust, maintainable codebases. Your role will involve architecting microservices, integrating AI-driven features, and ensuring deployment pipelines are efficient and reliable. You will mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive best practices across the engineering org, all while staying ahead of industry trends in Python, cloud services, and machine learning.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Design and develop high-performance backend architectures using Python and related frameworks.

• Lead the implementation of AI and machine learning services, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

• Mentor and coach a growing team of backend developers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define API contracts, data contracts, and performance requirements.

• Own the CI/CD pipeline, containerization, and deployment strategies across multiple cloud environments.

• Optimize database schemas, query performance, and data storage solutions for large-scale data workloads.

• Establish and enforce coding standards, security best practices, and testing methodologies.

• Conduct regular code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning sessions.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on the product roadmap.

• Provide technical expertise in incident response and post-incident analysis to improve system resilience.

• 7+ years of professional experience building scalable backend systems.

• Deep expertise in Python, Django/Flask, and asynchronous programming.

• Proven track record of deploying AI/ML services at production scale.

• Strong leadership skills with experience managing a cross-functional engineering team.

• Mastery of microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

• Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling best practices.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring.

• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, especially in high-stakes, production environments.

• Passion for staying ahead of industry trends and continuously improving engineering processes.
