About the Role

~1 min read

Clutch is at a pivotal moment. We're growing significantly year over year, and we need more connective tissue to keep pace. We're hiring a Senior Manager, Business Operations to connect the commercial side of the house, so the teams that win, onboard, and retain our customers work from the same facts and toward the same goals. This role sits in Finance.

This is a people manager role. You'll lead our Revenue Operations (RevOps) team and act as an operating partner to senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Implementation, People, and Finance. Together with the RevOps team, you own the shared language of the business (definitions, data, and processes) so commercial teams make decisions from one view of it.

When something important doesn't have an owner yet, it lands with you: a partnership strategy, a new commercial model, or pricing and margin guidance for leadership. This is a fast-moving startup. We're building toward a much larger company but we aren't one yet, and most of this role has no playbook. You'll define the process, build the tool, and hand it to the team. If you want established structure, this likely isn't the role.

You'll report to the Director of Business Operations and work directly with senior leaders across the company as a neutral partner to every function rather than an advocate for one. Your work will be visible, and it will significantly influence how we make commercial decisions.

You'll lead a small, high-ownership RevOps team that runs the systems and data our commercial teams depend on, and creates leverage for them to do their jobs even better. The team doesn't just own systems. They build automation, tooling, and processes, and they're close partners to Sales and Marketing. You'll coach them, set priorities, and open up more strategic scope, while giving them real autonomy.

Responsibilities

Within 3 months, you will:

  • →

Learn the business end to end: the revenue funnel, the customer lifecycle, how each commercial team works day to day, and where decisions get stuck

  • →

Build trust with your RevOps team: learn the work they own, and set priorities and team rhythms together

  • →

Deliver the first version of client-level margin and cost-to-serve, the analysis that grounds our pricing strategy

  • →

Develop a first point of view on pricing and packaging for revenue leadership, built on that analysis

  • →

Put AI to work in your own workflow from week one, and identify the first set of manual, repetitive processes across the commercial teams worth automating

Within 6 months, you will:

  • →

Stand up a first version of a deal desk, including an approval workflow, pricing and discount guardrails, and standard commercial terms

  • →

Partner with Sales and Marketing leaders as they prepare for the monthly business review: pressure-test their plans and point out risks, then solve them with the RevOps team by creating new processes, tooling, or automation

  • →

Build on the strength of the RevOps team: prioritize its roadmap against business outcomes and take on more strategic work together

  • →

Launch your first AI-enabled workflows or automations that remove manual reporting or reconciliation for the commercial teams, with time saved tracked

Within 9 months, you will:

  • →

Have a team whose output and standards hold, with the processes, tooling, and automation you've built running without you in the room

  • →

Have AI-enabled, self-serve tooling that commercial teams use day to day, with measurable time savings

  • →

Be the person leadership trusts to pick up the next important thing that doesn't have an owner yet

  • 5-8 years of total experience that combines consulting or banking with time as an operator inside a company

  • Experience managing people: you've coached ICs, given direct feedback, made tough talent calls, and built team rhythms

  • Startup experience. You've worked in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment where structure wasn't already there, and you built it. This is not a role for someone whose experience is only at large, established enterprises.

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including forecasting. You're very comfortable building models in spreadsheets from scratch, and they hold up to scrutiny. You use AI to move faster and sharpen your work, and you have the foundational modeling knowledge to know when its output is wrong.

  • Data-first and self-sufficient. You open the dataset before you build the slide, you're always looking for more data to test an idea, and you're comfortable getting into raw data yourself. You use AI to analyze it faster and know enough to check its work.

  • Commercial acumen: you can read commercial terms, spot the problematic ones, and reason about pricing, discounting, margin, and deal structure

  • A clear communicator who can walk an executive through a messy problem and leave them with a decision, and who is just as effective working alongside an AE, a CSM, or an engineer

  • Comfort with ambiguity. When something isn't set up yet, your instinct is to build it, not to wait for it. You create structure, manage competing priorities, and pivot when things change.

  • Relentless follow-through: you close loops, and people stop checking on what you've said you'll do

  • A partner's temperament: you challenge constructively without taking sides, you surface problems early, and you resolve cross-team conflict without escalating it

  • Industry experience in fintech, financial services, lending, banking, or credit unions

Please note that this role may evolve as our business needs change, so we appreciate your flexibility and adaptability.
