As a Project Engineer, you will manage engineering orders for high-voltage service products from initial requirements through production release. You will prepare designs, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, drawings, bills of materials, and production instructions while ensuring parts lists are complete and accurate. Working closely with Production, Sales, and other engineering team members, you will communicate order updates, address technical inquiries, and support the timely execution of standard and emergency orders. You will also develop knowledge across the service portfolio, prepare technical instructions, support SAP part number and bill-of-material activities, and identify opportunities to improve engineering processes. This is an office-based position in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Relocation assistance may be available for the selected candidate.

  • Create engineering orders and ensure generated parts lists are complete and accurate.
  • Prepare designs, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production-order bills of materials, and production instructions.
  • Create and modify electrical and mechanical drawings and engraving templates based on made-to-order and engineering-order requirements.
  • Develop cost-effective engineered products that meet sales-order requirements while eliminating non-value-added costs from parts lists.
  • Take ownership of assigned engineering orders, provide weekly status updates, and support the rapid execution of emergency orders.
  • Collaborate with Production and Sales to prepare engineering orders and create new customer offerings.
  • Support SAP part number loading and bill-of-material creation, respond to technical inquiries, and prepare parts-kit specifications and standard operating procedure instructions.
  • Build product knowledge, improve engineering processes, and provide technical support and training to other engineering team members.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Three to five years of project engineering or related experience.
  • Experience with Dead Tank Breakers (DTB), Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and other high voltage systems is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision and address difficult, typically non-complex problems.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach, with a commitment to conducting business with safety and integrity.

You will have opportunities to expand your technical knowledge while contributing to energy-service engineering solutions.

  • Opportunities to work on innovative technologies shaping the future of energy
  • A collaborative environment with experienced professionals
  • Access to learning platforms and career development programs
  • Attractive health and retirement benefits
  • Paid leave and flexible work arrangements
