Help a growing local business run better—and grow stronger.
At Floor Coverings International of Boulder County, great customer experiences start well before installation. They begin with a prompt response to an inquiry, a well-scheduled consultation, accurate financial records, and materials that arrive on time.
We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager who can connect those pieces. Working directly with the owner, you’ll own daily bookkeeping and financial administration, help turn inquiries into appointments, maintain our social media presence, and keep material orders moving.
This role is for someone who wants meaningful ownership and a long-term growth opportunity. You learn quickly, think independently, and turn guidance into consistent action.
The impact you’ll make
Turn customer interest into booked appointments.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incoming calls, online inquiries, and referral leads.
- Learn what customers need, explain our consultation process, and schedule appointments with our sales team.
- Follow up with unbooked inquiries and reschedule missed or canceled appointments.
- Maintain accurate lead records, referral sources, and next steps in our CRM.
- Coordinate calendars to support efficient routes and well-prepared consultations.
- Track inquiries and booked appointments so we can identify gaps and improve follow-through.
Keep our business visible and referral relationships active.
- Manage the social media calendar and consistently publish content across our business accounts.
- Gather project photos, customer reviews, and team updates; turn them into engaging posts that showcase our work.
- Coordinate with the owner and marketing partners on promotions, campaigns, and content.
- Monitor social messages and comments, respond appropriately, and move customer inquiries into our sales process.
- Support outreach to referral partners, past customers, property managers, and other local businesses.
- Organize follow-up activity so business development happens consistently each week.
- Track which activities generate inquiries and appointments, and recommend improvements.
Own accurate bookkeeping and dependable cash collection.
- Independently manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks, including transaction entries, categorization, reconciliations, and accurate records.
- Manage accounts payable: verify supplier and installer invoices, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate payments.
- Manage accounts receivable: issue invoices, track balances, and proactively follow up on outstanding payments.
- Maintain current job costs so we can understand project profitability.
- Give the owner clear visibility into receivables, upcoming obligations, and financial issues requiring attention.
Keep production moving through a reliable order desk.
- Place accurate material orders promptly after projects are sold.
- Confirm product availability, quantities, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Track shipments, resolve order discrepancies, and flag delays early.
- Keep project records current and communicate material readiness to the production team.
- Coordinate with sales and production to resolve missing information before it affects installation.
Build better ways of working.
- Create practical checklists, processes, and reporting that improve consistency.
- Confirm ownership and timelines, communicate updates, and close the loop.
- Handle routine decisions independently and bring recommendations when an issue needs the owner’s input.
What success looks like
Customer inquiries receive prompt attention and become well-scheduled appointments. Our social accounts consistently showcase our work, and referral outreach happens every week. The books are current, collections receive steady follow-up, and material orders are accurate and on track.
As you learn the business, you take increasing ownership and help the owner spend more time leading and growing the company.
What you bring
- Strong, hands-on QuickBooks and bookkeeping experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
- Experience coordinating customer inquiries, appointment scheduling, and competing priorities.
- The ability to manage business social media accounts, write clear posts, and organize a content calendar.
- Professional, friendly communication and confidence following up with customers about appointments and payments.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and reliable follow-through.
- The ability to learn from guidance, document processes, and work independently.
- Construction, flooring, home services, or related industry experience preferred. Job-costing and purchasing experience are especially valuable.
Build a long-term future here
We’re looking for someone already based within commuting distance of Boulder County who wants to become an integral part of a growing local business.
As you demonstrate results, the role could expand into managing production coordinators, leading broader operations, and eventually taking on COO-level responsibilities. Growth comes through ownership, stronger systems, and the ability to help others succeed.
Our values are Craftsmanship, Community, Compassion, Accountability, and Fun.
