ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Cook I for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island.  This position is located on Wake Island. It’s a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule of 3 months on the island and on month off unpaid, Wake Island is 2,100 miles away from HNL. While working on-site housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility.  All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. You are responsible for the flight from your home base to HNL.  Transportation to wake island is provided by government sponsored aircraft.  This is a negotiated union position.       Key Role:  In a cafeteria environment, prepare all meals in accordance with preplanned menus within established budgets and in compliance with government and management directives. Prepare and cook the quantity of food required according to the menu and the number of customers.  Assists in preparing and serving appetizing, appealing meals using safe and hygienic methods for employees and as directed for special functions and visitors.  Ensures that the work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.  Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas and the cafeteria after each meal.  Unload food and supplies from delivery trucks.  Ensure compliance with USDA and all pertaining standards, policies, and regulations.  Maintain accountability of customers and property; adhere to safety practices.  Performs other related duties as assigned.  Accountable For:   Food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards, and safe work procedures.   Recipe construction.   Diet principles.   Sanitation standards and procedures to prevent contamination.   Counting inventory.   Maintaining a food handler's card.    Required Qualifications:  High School diploma or equivalent.  Must have and maintain a Certified Food Professional Certification. Two (2) years of previous food-service experience in a commercial or institutional environment.  One (1) year experience as a line cook or prep cook in addition to the 2 years of food-service experience.  Experience with safe food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards, and safe work procedures to prevent contamination.  Ability to do recipe construction. Speak and understand English.  Valid driver's license with suitable driving record.  Must pass a background check, drug screening, fingerprints, and a fit-for-duty physical exam; candidates must be medically cleared for long-term residency in a remote location with limited access to healthcare. Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquires background investigation.
