Your Role:
The Senior Maintenance Technician performs advanced maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair activities that support the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of facility infrastructure, utilities, laboratory equipment, and related systems. This role maintains critical utility systems, including WFI, RO/DI, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Heating Hot Water Boilers, Backup Generators and process air, to support continued site operations. Working within established procedures, the Senior Maintenance Technician applies maintenance experience and technical judgment to plan assignments, execute preventive maintenance, respond to general work requests, and resolve equipment issues. The role maintains accurate records to support cGMP compliance and coordinates with internal departments, vendors, and contractors to complete maintenance and repair activities. The Senior Maintenance Technician may determine methods and procedures for new assignments and provide technical guidance to other non-exempt personnel when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair activities involving plumbing, carpentry, painting, equipment servicing, basic wiring, mechanical systems, and HVAC systems to support safe and reliable facility operations.
  • Maintain assigned utility systems, including WFI, RO/DI, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Heating Hot Water Boilers, Backup Generators and process air, to support system availability and continued site operations.
  • Execute preventive maintenance, daily equipment inspections, and general work requests to identify deficiencies, address maintenance needs, and improve equipment reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair utilities, laboratory instruments, and equipment to restore functionality and minimize operational disruption.
  • Schedule and complete assigned preventive maintenance, repair, and utility-support activities in accordance with established priorities and operating requirements.
  • Document preventive maintenance, repair, inspection, and equipment-service activities accurately and completely to maintain equipment histories and support cGMP compliance.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to support equipment servicing, facility repairs, and timely resolution of maintenance issues.
  • Use appropriate maintenance tools, equipment, and technical practices to complete assigned work safely, accurately, and effectively.
  • Participate in on-call, weekend, overtime, and after-hours maintenance coverage to respond to operational needs and support continuity of facility services.
  • Determine appropriate methods and procedures for new assignments and provide technical guidance when appropriate to support consistent maintenance execution across the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and four to six years of experience in the maintenance trades, including trade knowledge in a specialized field or process, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance practices involving plumbing, carpentry, painting, equipment servicing, basic wiring, mechanical systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs using appropriate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair facility utilities, equipment, and laboratory instruments within established procedures.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate preventive maintenance and repair records in support of cGMP compliance.
  • Ability to work overtime or weekends when necessary and participate in on-call and after-hours responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Experience maintaining WFI, RO/DI, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Heating Hot Water Boilers, Backup Generators and process air, or comparable utility systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Experience performing maintenance work in a cGMP-regulated biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, or manufacturing environment.
  • Specialized trade training related to mechanical, HVAC, electrical, utility, or facility systems.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance and repair activities with vendors and contractors.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

This role is a full-time onsite position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. unless otherwise stated by Supervisor. The employee must also have the ability to work overtime and/or weekends when necessary.

Compensation:  

We offer competitive compensation packages for this role, including a base salary, performance-based bonuses, and comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. 

The compensation range for this role is $31.15 - $38.95 hourly depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer opportunities for career growth and development as well as a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:  

In this dynamic role, expect a blend of regular activities like sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional physically engaging tasks such as lifting objects up to 25 pounds. The work environment might expose you to electrical shocks, toxic chemicals, vibrations, or loud noise levels occasionally.
