Experienced Firmware Engineer – Fixed Dome Cameras

We're looking for an Experienced Firmware Engineer to join the Fixed Dome Firmware team at our HQ in Lund, Sweden. Here, you'll work with creating a smarter, safer world and help bring the next generation of network video products to life.

You will be an important part of our Fixed Dome Firmware team, where you will develop, deliver, and maintain the software for a large range of Axis core products. Here, you'll collaborate with different functions within Axis — from all parts of the embedded Linux stack to teams working with image quality, mechanical design, electronics, production test, and more.

As a firmware engineer, you take ownership of the projects you work on and share responsibility for ensuring all projects in our department move forward and meet their targets. • →Configure and adapt AXIS OS, our own Linux-based operating system, for our next generation of products
• →Analyse, design, and develop software features for upcoming products

We are looking for a collaborative and curious team player who thrives on challenges and loves to learn. • 5+ years of experience in firmware or embedded software development
• Solid knowledge of Linux system programming — user space, kernel space, and device drivers
• Experience with C and/or C++ programming
• Familiarity with continuous integration, version control using Git, and build tools
• Experience working with agile methodologies
• An engineering bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
• Familiar working with AI-powered development tools

• Experience with debug tools such as GDB and Valgrind
• Familiarity with scripting languages — shell, Python, or Perl
• Working knowledge of low-level programming, e.g., using Micro Controllers (MCU)
• Experience leading agile teams
