Are you a hands-on sales professional who loves closing deals and navigating complex public environments? Axual is looking for an
Account Executive for the Public market in the Netherlands to accelerate our growth by building deep client relationships and driving strategic enterprise sales in the world of real-time event streaming.

Our clients include Rabobank, PostNL, the Norwegian Government, Stedin, and Eneco. We’re now looking for a commercially driven  Account Executive to strengthen and expand these key relationships specifically in the (semi) governmental and public market.

As Account Executive for the Public Market, you will:

 ✅ Manage and grow a portfolio of public or governmental clients in the Netherlands.
✅ Build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders,
both technical and business decision-makers.
✅ Lead the
full sales cycle: from opportunity discovery to contract negotiation and closing.
Understand the customer’s side of the table: how decision-making units (DMUs) work, and how to approach each stakeholder with a tailored message.
✅ Act as a trusted advisor with strong domain knowledge and the ability to speak the language of both
engineers and executives.
✅ Collaborate closely with
marketing and demand generation to maintain a healthy pipeline.
✅ Identify
upsell and renewal opportunities in mission-critical environments.
✅ Stay up to date with
industry trends and translate them into valuable insights for your clients.

🔹You have an up-to-date and relevant network within the Dutch (semi-)government and public sector, at both technical and organizational levels.
🔹 You bring
5+ years of sales and account management experience, ideally with a technical product (e.g. integration, API management or data streaming).
🔹 You’ve sold to
technical buyers and understand the nuances of enterprise IT landscapes.
🔹 You have proven experience with
government tenders and public procurement procedures.
🔹 Preferably, you’ve sold
SaaS products.
🔹 You know how to operate within large, complex organizations and speak to multiple stakeholders with confidence.
🔹 You understand
mission-critical customer environments.
🔹 You’re recognized as a
senior-level sales professional – a trusted partner, not just a vendor.
🔹 A
self-starter with a “hunter” mentality, driven by results and always on the lookout for the next opportunity.
🔹 Fluent in
Dutch and English.
🔹 Importantly: this is
not a Head of Sales or C-level role. We're looking for a hands-on closer who thrives on deal-making, not managing sales teams.
