Description:

This Standard Pipe Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer accounts that purchase standard pipe in various industries including but not limited to PVF, Plumbing, Fire Sprinkler, Industrial, Mechanical, HVAC, Tubular, Water Well Casing, Wholesale Distribution, Fence, OEM, Conduit, Steel Service Centers, End Users, Fabricators.  The purpose of the Standard Pipe Outside Sales Representative is to ensure customer needs are identified and met in a timely manner, achieve customer satisfaction, and meet sales objectives and goals.

 

1.       Qualifications:

1.1.   Minimum of five (5) years outside sales experience in carbon steel standard pipe industry.

1.2.   Sales experience within manufacturing environment or steel pipe distribution is preferred. 

1.3.   Product & market knowledge and customer network in above mentioned industries.

1.4.   Knowledge of domestic carbon steel pipe producers and products.

1.5.   Capable of analyze and maintain running size & type mix of inventory, projecting future production orders based on sales and market trends.

1.6.   Knowledge of production specification, manufacturing flow, and quality control plans.

1.7.   High level of outgoing interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.

1.8.   Excellent oral and written communication skills.

1.9.   Use of Microsoft Office applications and great knowledge of Microsoft Excel mandatory.

1.10.                     Capable of working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and attention to detail are important.

1.11.                     Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to meet deadlines.

1.12.                     Willingness to travel extensively in assigned territory or accounts.

1.13.                     Demonstrate ability to find new accounts, develop business and close sales.

 

Responsibilities

2.1.   Collect, monitor, analyze and report market intelligence, trends about the industry, customers, and competitors.

2.2.   Follow production and inventory levels, and update customers with production completion and shipment timeframe.

2.3.   Develop and maintain relationships with assigned customers, ensuring their satisfaction with products and services.

2.4.   Prospect new customers, continuously optimize customer portfolio, create new revenue opportunities, and improve processes and services to customers.

2.5.   Oversee and follow the full cycle of orders from inquiry to payment.

2.6.   Ensuring purchase order commercial and technical terms and conditions reviewed and met.

2.7.   Managing and tracking quotations, sales orders, shipments, and payments.

2.8.   Managing inventory levels effectively by maintaining a good stock mix and projecting future orders for inventory.

2.9.   Managing customer complaints, product or service-related claims and customer disputes.

2.10.                     Frequently meet with existing and potential customers on an agreed upon frequency.

2.11.                     Prepare monthly activity report, summarize all sales & operational activities of the month.

2.12.                     Other duties as assigned as needed.
