- Assigned appointments: Meet with homeowners who have already requested information through Home Depot.
- No cold calling or canvassing: Your focus is on selling, not generating your own leads.
- Strong sales environment: Typical close rates are 40% to 60%, with average tickets ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.
- Mobile showroom provided: You will use a company van stocked with samples and catalogs.

As an In-Home Sales Consultant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Driving a company van to scheduled in-home appointments throughout the Columbus area.
- Meeting with homeowners to understand their needs and present flooring options from the mobile showroom.
- Measuring square footage on site and building clear, accurate estimates.
- Presenting proposals, answering questions, and closing sales.
- Discussing financing options when they fit the customer’s needs.
- Completing same-day follow-up whenever possible.
- Keeping accurate notes and next steps in the CRM.
After the sale, you are not responsible for install coordination or ongoing customer communication. Your focus is selling, documenting clearly, and handing the project off to the operations team.
- Experience in in-home sales, consultative sales, or a similar customer-facing sales role.
- Flooring, home improvement, remodeling, or construction sales experience is preferred.
- Confident closing skills and the ability to guide homeowners through buying decisions.
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Comfort discussing pricing, payment, and financing options.
- Valid driver’s license and a dependable driving record.
- Comfort working from a mobile showroom and carrying samples throughout the day.
- Local travel only, no overnight travel.
- Appointments are scheduled weekly, typically 2 to 5 per day.
- Some late days are expected, especially Tuesdays and Thursdays, due to scheduled evening appointments.
- Training includes 3 to 4 days on-site in Cincinnati.
- During training, you earn base pay while learning the process. There is no draw or ramp.
- Ability to carry product samples in and out of customer homes multiple times per day.
- Comfort navigating stairs, tight spaces, and normal in-home measuring conditions.
- Background check.
- Drug test.
- Driving record check.
- Previous employment reference checks.
