As a Territory Manager, you'll help drive that impact across Tennessee by supporting agency relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and helping deliver solutions that create long-term value for our partners and policyholders.

Working closely with agency partners and internal teams, you'll support profitable growth, business retention, and larger account opportunities while serving as a key connection point between the field and Builders Mutual.

 

This position offers the flexibility of a home office, regular travel throughout Tennessee, and opportunities to connect with teammates and leaders throughout the year.

 

Your WORK as a Territory Manager will make a difference by:

          Monitoring agency performance, including production, premium growth, profitability, retention, submission activity, and overall agency results

          Developing and executing business plans that support profitable growth and strengthen agency performance

          Building, managing, and maintaining strong relationships with appointed agents, producers, and agency leaders

          Serving as the primary liaison between Builders Mutual and agency partners

          Partnering with agencies on growth opportunities, including larger and more complex account strategies

          Educating agents on Builders Mutual products, services, underwriting appetite, eligibility guidelines, pricing philosophy, and cross-selling opportunities

          Leading the resolution of agency questions and concerns while ensuring a positive partner experience

          Managing territory profitability and implementing action plans to improve growth, retention, and overall performance

          Collaborating closely with underwriting, claims, risk management, marketing, and internal partners to support agency success

          Staying informed on market trends and competitor activity within the territory

 

Travel Requirements

This is a field-based position requiring travel throughout Tennessee approximately 65–75% of the time, including occasional overnight travel.

 

Skills to get the JOB done RIGHT:

          Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of property and casualty insurance experience, preferably in territory management, agency management, business development, or relationship management

          Strong knowledge of commercial insurance principles, policy language, and underwriting practices

          Ability to build credibility and influence with agency partners and internal stakeholders

          Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills

          Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance and identify growth opportunities

          Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills

          Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently

          Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business technology tools
