Tigg's Canteen Services is searching for a motivated and dependable Kitchen Manager to oversee daily food service operations at the DeKalb County Jail in Auburn, Indiana. This leadership position is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching others, maintaining high food quality standards, and working in a structured, fast-paced environment.

As the Kitchen Manager, you'll oversee the daily operation of the kitchen while ensuring meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and leading kitchen staff.
  • Assisting with food preparation, baking, cooking, and kitchen sanitation.
  • Ensuring company recipes and food safety procedures are followed.
  • Maintaining quality, portion control, and inventory standards.
  • Working collaboratively within a secure correctional facility.
  • Helping create an efficient, organized, and positive work environment.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Leads by example with integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Can lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Is comfortable working in a structured correctional environment.
  • Can read and follow standardized recipes and company procedures.
  • Is organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for the correctional facility.
  • Availability to work rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Flexibility to work shifts between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • Previous food service, kitchen, or supervisory experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate with the right attitude and leadership potential.
