Lead Cook

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook to join our team at the Jackson County Jail in Jackson, MI.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates integrity, maintains a positive attitude, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable working in a structured correctional environment. As a Lead Cook, you will help oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure meals are prepared and served according to company standards. Responsibilities include:

• →Leading, directing, and assisting inmates with kitchen duties
• →Preparing, cooking, and baking meals according to company recipes
• →Assisting with daily meal preparation and food service operations
• →Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
• →Following company policies, food safety standards, and facility procedures
• →Supporting the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and on schedule

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work effectively in a structured correctional environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Availability to work weekends and holidays
• Flexibility to work varying shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
• Ability to follow company recipes, policies, and procedures
• Must successfully obtain clearance to work within the facility

Previous food service or kitchen experience is preferred but not required. Tigg's Canteen Services is willing to train the right candidate!
