Lead Cook

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented individual to join our team as a Permanent Part-Time Lead Cook at Emmet County Jail in Petoskey, MI.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates integrity, strong character, and a positive can-do attitude. If you enjoy working in a kitchen, have leadership skills, and can thrive in a structured environment, we encourage you to apply!

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a structured correctional environment and have the ability to:

  Follow company recipes and food service guidelines.

• →

  Lead, instruct, and assist with daily kitchen operations.

• →

  Participate in meal preparation, including food prep, baking, cooking, and kitchen clean-up.

• →

  Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with others.

• →

  Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

• Flexibility to work varying days and hours, with shifts scheduled between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

• Ability to obtain clearance and approval to work within the facility.

Previous food service or kitchen experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate!
