We are seeking an Account Executive to join our technology practice. This is a junior level position where you’ll work collaboratively with team members on key account projects and help organize the team around upcoming assignments. You will work as the right hand to mid-levels on the team contributing to the overall strategic direction of an account.

 

You will be responsible for pitching media and securing coverage opportunities as well as maintaining team operations with agendas, action items and reports. You will also be expected to actively network with media, analysts and influencers to develop relationships. 

 

You will support in developing highly curated media lists to provide your teams with accurate journalist information to successfully secure coverage for your clients. This role will entail conducting industry monitoring to flag any trends, issues and media coverage for clients. This role will support a large technology company driving innovation across consumer devices.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of daily corporate and product communications responsibilities, with a strong focus on implementing strategic plans and tactical initiatives across earned media relations, product communications, and corporate and executive thought leadership initiatives.
  • Develop initial earned media strategies with guidance from SAE/AM; conduct proactive and reactive media relations outreach ongoing across business, trade, and policy media.
  • Contribute to corporate communications efforts, including executive visibility programs, thought leadership development, public policy and government affairs media strategies, and integrated communications campaigns
  • Research, identify, and recommend executive speaking opportunities, awards, and industry engagements that elevate brand, product, and leadership positioning
  • Maintain regular and clear communication with team and client, own account projects from start to finish and proactively flag opportunities for clients.  
  • Build media, influencer, and analyst relationships on behalf of the client and the agency.
  • Draft press materials and speaker submissions for review by a senior team member. 
  • Provide support on policy and government affairs communications, including monitoring relevant issues, contributing to messaging, and assisting with stakeholder communications strategies.
  • Support investor and financial communications initiatives, including messaging development, multi-media content strategics, and media pitching
  • Oversee junior team members and provide direction, edits, and support on assignments. 
  • Participate as a day-to-day contact, building strong relationships with client contacts. 
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of consumer technology device industry and competitors to provide recommendations on strategies to internal colleagues and clients, as appropriate.  
  • Supports or leads on event logistics, budgets, briefing docs, vendor relations, and on-site execution for client events.
  • Participate in new business pitch development and presentations, as appropriate.
  • Promote and uphold Allison’s core values; participates in agency-wide training and professional development programs. 

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a junior employee in public relations, marketing, or a related field. Account Executives at Allison typically have a minimum of 2+ years of experience.
  • Corporate communications experience strongly preferred 
  • Consumer tech and B2B tech industry background and/or interest preferred
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn and enthusiastic about the work. 
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Critical thinking to help shape programs, advise junior team members, and make recommendations to clients.
  • Understands the practical application of AI tools in communications (media list building, content ideation, sentiment analysis, drafting, etc.) and actively integrates AI into workflows.
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel alongside Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Proficient with media monitoring and data analytics tools including Muckrack, Cision, Critical Mention, etc.
