Senior Platform Engineer

 

 

 

 

 

At Ideagen, we're building the shared platforms that power a global portfolio of products. We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Sustenance Platform team and help build, scale, and operate the cloud infrastructure that powers our products. This is an opportunity to work on complex platform engineering challenges using modern technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, and Go, while playing a key role in shaping platform strategy, reliability, security, and automation. As a senior member of the team, you'll take ownership of significant infrastructure initiatives from design through delivery, influence architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and help drive best practices in AI-assisted software development.

• →Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure.
• →Lead the delivery of complex platform engineering initiatives from concept to production.
• →Build and enhance Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
• →Contribute to platform architecture, technical design, and engineering standards.
• →Support production systems through incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• →Review code, mentor engineers, and promote engineering excellence across the team.
• →Drive automation and reduce operational toil through tooling and process improvements.
• →Participate in on-call rotations and improve service reliability and observability.
• →Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly and effectively, validating outputs and ensuring high-quality delivery.

• Strong experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
• Deep expertise in AWS services, networking, IAM, compute, storage, and cloud architecture.
• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Hands-on experience with container platforms such as ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of security best practices including secrets management, least-privilege access, encryption, and vulnerability management.
• Experience designing highly available and resilient cloud-native solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and incident management skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and conducting technical reviews.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience with Azure and multi-cloud environments.
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimisation.
• Experience supporting compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar.
• Exposure to Python or Go development.
• Experience implementing AI-assisted engineering practices and automation.
