Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Provides safety training and leads the development and enhancement of safety training programs for a real estate development client, supporting a site workforce of 3,000 employees.
- →Conducts thorough safety, general liability, loss control, and OSHA compliance audits across 597 communities and active construction sites spanning 39 states, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- →Evaluates physical site conditions for general liability risks, slip-and-fall hazards, and property damage exposures (fire/flood), capturing photographic evidence to outline existing controls and corrective action necessary to maintain account profitability.
- →Prepares in-depth analytical reports and collaborates with community management teams to ensure field recommendations and corrective measures are systematically executed and documented.
- →Manages scheduled audit visits for military and student housing portfolios while delivering responsive, on-call loss control consulting for affordable housing communities.
- →Assists the client in establishing and refining an effective Loss Control Program geared toward reducing the frequency and severity of workers' compensation, general liability, and property claims.
- →Actively involved in day-to-day management of workers’ compensation claims throughout the company.
- →Maintains technical understanding in construction, life safety, fire protection, and industry regulations affecting multi-family real estate development and property management.
- →Compiles mandatory annual OSHA summaries, maintains regulatory logs, and interacts with OSHA and other regulatory bodies on behalf of the client.
- →Responds to client locations to assist with accident scene response to aid in minimizing loss frequency, severity, recurrence, and for possible subrogation.
- →Partners with an internal risk management team and attends claim reviews alongside the Conner Strong & Buckelew Claim Advocacy team, while accompanying insurance carrier loss control representatives during site visits.
- →Provides technical assistance outside normal survey activities at the request of client leadership, internal risk control teams, and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
~1 min read- Effective public speaking, presentation, training, and oral/written communication skills.
- Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with internal teams, regional leadership, and external regulatory bodies.
- Computer proficiency and working knowledge of MS Office for creating photo-documented reports.
- Effective organizational, follow-up, delegation, and project management skills.
- Must be capable of maintaining a flexible schedule and have the ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel up to 70% during Year 1 (including travel across the country and the Virgin Islands), with travel requirements reducing to 40–50% in subsequent years.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 10 or more years of experience in Construction Safety Management, Real Estate Development Safety, or Safety Consulting.
- Background in managing risk and safety programs across multi-family real estate, affordable housing, student housing, military housing, or active construction portfolios.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation oversight, general liability prevention, and property loss controls.
- Designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) strongly desired.
- Extensive experience in safety training and curriculum development is essential.
What We Offer
~1 min readSalary for this position ranges from $130,000.00 - $160,000.00. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
Qualifying positions will also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, such as participation in family medical and dental insurance programs, 401K plan, and PTO.
