DIS-TRAN Steel is looking to add a Program Manager to the team in our Pineville, LA location.
 

The Program Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering multiple cross-functional manufacturing operational technology (OT) and business information technology (IT) programs within DIS-TRAN Steel.

This role ensures programs are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with business objectives. The Program Manager partners closely with operations, engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams to improve processes, increase efficiency, support production goals, and deliver successful program outcomes.

  • Lead and manage multiple manufacturing OT and business IT programs from initiation through completion.
  • Take ownership of program outcomes and ensure work remains aligned with operational and business objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality, supply chain, technology, and other business functions.
  • Support new product launches, process-improvement initiatives, capital projects, and technology implementations.
  • Ensure programs are completed on time, within scope, and according to established quality expectations.
  • Effectively prioritize multiple projects and competing requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Define program objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Coordinate program resources and activities across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation, action items, decisions, schedules, and supporting materials.
  • Facilitate program meetings, reviews, planning sessions, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Assist with standardizing program-management processes, tools, documentation, and best practices.
  • Monitor program performance and provide regular status updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Track key performance indicators, milestones, budgets, resource utilization, and other program metrics.
  • Identify program risks, issues, constraints, and dependencies.
  • Develop and implement mitigation and corrective-action plans to keep programs on track.
  • Analyze performance information to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality, delivery, and cost management.
  • Escalate significant risks and issues appropriately and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Promote alignment, accountability, and transparency throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across departments.
  • Facilitate communication among technical teams, operational teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Communicate complex program information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Establish mutual expectations with internal and external customers and maintain a strong service orientation.
  • Lead and support continuous-improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce waste, improve quality, and strengthen program delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, production workflows, technology systems, and business practices.
  • Support the development and standardization of processes, tools, and program-management best practices.
  • Apply lessons learned to future programs and improvement initiatives.
  • Support training and onboarding activities related to new programs, systems, processes, or procedures.
  • Participate in audits, reviews, retrospectives, and other improvement activities supporting business objectives.
  • Ensure program activities comply with company policies, safety standards, quality requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Consider employee safety, product quality, operational impacts, and customer requirements throughout program planning and execution.
  • Promote responsible safety practices during office, production-floor, and project-site activities.
  • Participate in required meetings, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations management, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Approximately three to seven or more years of program- or project-management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operational technology, business information technology, production processes, and operational workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple programs or projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules, budgets, resource plans, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and collaborating with technical, operational, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Strong program-management, organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage detailed information while maintaining focus on broader business objectives.
  • Demonstrated accountability, initiative, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with Epicor ERP is required.
  • Experience with project-management tools and methodologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional certification is a plus.
