About the Role
~1 min readThis is a highly influential, field-based role where you’ll partner closely with Butchery Managers & Store Owners across 35-40 PAK'nSAVE and New World Stores. You will focus on lifting knowledge and capability, improving category performance and delivering consistent operational excellence.
You’ll combine your technical butchery expertise, commercial acumen and coaching capability to:
- Coach and mentor store teams to lift capability and performance
- Analyse store & category data to identify opportunities and drive improvements
- Build strong, credible relationships with department managers and owner/operators
- Implement best practices in butchery operations, production, and food safety
Your week will typically include time in the office (our ‘all in’ day is Monday), followed by store visits across the region (Tuesday–Friday), with travel within your focus area of Waikato and Coromandel, with the wider North Island as needed.
You could be based in Auckland or the Waikato/Coromandel region, and how you plan your weeks is up to you! You will have everything you need to succeed, so you will need to be very comfortable working autonomously and be highly organised.
You’re a skilled butcher or butchery leader who knows how to get the best out of people and operations.
You’ll bring:
- Strong butchery experience (ideally as a Butchery Manager or senior team member)
- Solid understanding of meat cuts, yields, waste control, and production planning
- A data-driven mindset with the ability to use insights to influence outcomes
- Experience using SAP or similar systems in a retail environment
- Exceptional people and coaching skills – you can influence, challenge, and inspire
- Strong planning, organisation, and self-management capability
- A full driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly
