Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding an Employee Benefits Account Executive to their Fairview Insurance team in Verona, NJ

Job Summary:

The Employee Benefits Account Executive is responsible for managing a portfolio of New Jersey public sector clients, including counties, municipalities, school districts, authorities, and other government entities. This role supports producers, internal service teams, carriers, vendors, and other business partners in understanding workforce needs, recommending competitive benefit strategies, ensuring seamless implementation, management of renewals, and ongoing account management. Success requires strong relationship management and technical benefits knowledge; in concert with serving as a strategic advisor to public employers, delivering compliant, cost-effective health and welfare benefit solutions while navigating state & federal regulations.

Benefits Strategy & Consulting

  • Advise on employer-sponsored health and welfare benefit programs, including:
    • Medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as vendors to support flexible spending accounts, retiree billing and other non-insurance related services
  • Support clients participating in or evaluating:
    • New Jersey State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) & School Employees’ Health Benefits Program (SEHBP)
    • Self-funded, level-funded, or alternative funding arrangements (where applicable)
    • Analyze claims experience, contribution strategy, and employee cost-sharing impacts
    • Develop multi-year benefit strategies that balance fiscal responsibility with budget matters.

Renewal, Procurement & Compliance

  • Lead annual renewal processes, including rate analysis and carrier negotiations
  • Support RFP/RFQ development, response evaluation, and recommendations in accordance with NJ public contracting laws
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA) And NJ-specific statutes impacting public employee benefits
  • Coordinate timelines to align with budget cycles, labor negotiations, and board approval calendars

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary strategic contact for assigned New Jersey public sector accounts
  • Build trusted relationships with public officials, HR leadership, business administrators, and benefits committees
  • Support clients operating under collective bargaining agreements and governing board oversight
  • Conduct regular client reviews, renewal planning meetings, and governing body presentations

 

Communication & Education

  • Prepare and deliver clear, compliant presentations for:
    • Governing bodies and boards of education
    • Union leadership and labor committees
    • Employee town halls and open enrollment meetings
  • Oversee employee communication strategies
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely implementation of plans.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 5-7+ years of experience in employee benefits, with direct public sector or government account exposure preferred, but not required
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • New Jersey Life & Health insurance license (or ability to obtain)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; agency management systems preferred

Conditions of Work

  • Flexible work hours may be required during peak renewal periods
  • Local travel within New Jersey for client meetings, board sessions, and open enrollment events

 

This range represents the estimated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to performance, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of FRP's total compensation package for employees.
