Grants Energy, a leader in uranium in situ recovery (ISR), is seeking an innovative and dedicated Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations to join our team for the Grants Precision ISR Project, America’s largest proposed uranium extraction opportunity. This project, located at the heart of America’s clean energy future, is essential to national interests and energy security.

As a cornerstone project for supplying domestic uranium—vital for both energy independence and national defense—Grants Precision ISR is committed to the highest standards of environmental stewardship, transparency, and community partnership. Our work is especially significant given its proximity to tribal communities and culturally sensitive lands, and we are fully dedicated to meaningful tribal engagement and public dialogue from the outset.

Location: Position can sit in San Diego, CA or the state of New Mexico

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Lead all aspects of regulatory compliance and engagement for the Grants ISR Project—including permitting, licensing, and ongoing reporting.
• Build and sustain productive relationships with federal, state, tribal, and local governments; proactively seek opportunities for the public to see and understand our plans, including facility tours and open houses.
• Facilitate meaningful tribal consultation and partnership, honoring Section 106 and NEPA processes, and ensuring that culturally significant concerns are fully addressed .
• Develop clear, accessible educational materials and lead public presentations to foster genuine community understanding of ISR technology, groundwater chemistry, radiation safety, and restoration commitments.
• Act as a trusted representative for Grants Energy in regulatory, public, and industry forums—actively listening to concerns and bringing solutions forward.
• Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes; provide strategic advice to senior leadership on emerging issues.
• Lead collaborative efforts with technical, legal, and operational teams to maintain best-in-class compliance programs.
• Support audits, inspections, and respond to regulatory inquiries with proactive transparency.
• Develop and deliver training to ensure regulatory awareness and environmental best practices across all staff.

• Typically requires a Bachelors in Business Administration or related discipline and eleven or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least five of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
• Bachelor’s degree (business, legal studies, environmental science, engineering, or related); advanced degree (MBA, JD, or similar) preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience in regulatory affairs, permitting, government relations, or project management in mining, energy, or related sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of NRC, NMED, and federal/state regulations for uranium mining.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational talents.
• Demonstrated track record managing complex permitting and compliance projects, preferably in a public-facing or contested environment.
• Passion for public service, community engagement, and environmental excellence.
