Job Title: Seasonal Snowplow Operator – CDL Driver (On-Call) Location: Salem, VA Employment Type: On-Call / Seasonal (Winter 2026–2027) Shifts: Day and Night Shifts - 8 AM to 8 PM and 8 PM to 8 AM GovFirst is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Seasonal Snowplow Operator – CDL Driver (On-Call) to support winter maintenance operations in Salem, VA. The successful candidate is responsible for: Operate snowplow trucks and assigned winter maintenance equipment to remove snow and apply de-icing materials to roadways. Perform safe and efficient plowing operations during winter weather events, including heavy snow, ice, and mixed precipitation. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and equipment. Maintain communication with supervisors regarding route conditions, weather conditions, and operational updates. Respond on an on-call basis during and after snow events, including daytime, nighttime, weekends, and holidays. Support roadway snow removal, de-icing, and clearing operations to maintain safe and accessible roadways. Follow all required safety standards, traffic control procedures, and operational requirements. Operate assigned vehicles and equipment safely in cold, icy, and extreme weather conditions. Perform other winter maintenance duties as assigned. Requirements Required Qualifications: Valid CDL, Class A or Class B. Previous experience operating snowplow trucks or similar heavy vehicles preferred. Clean driving record. Ability to respond to winter storms and operational needs on short notice. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts. Ability to work outdoors in cold, icy, and extreme weather conditions for extended periods. Strong commitment to safe vehicle and equipment operation. Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively with supervisors, and work as part of a winter operations team. Required Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Required Licenses, Certifications & Screening: Valid CDL, Class A or B. Clean driving record.
