The Junior Account Manager – Regional Retail is responsible for driving profitable sales growth and strengthening strategic relationships across an assigned portfolio of regional retail customers. This role serves as the primary day-to-day business partner for assigned accounts while collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, and Operations to deliver exceptional customer experiences and achieve business objectives.

The Jr. Account Manager develops and executes account growth strategies, manages customer programs, supports forecasting and promotional planning, and serves as the voice of the customer internally. Success in this role requires strong relationship management, analytical thinking, commercial acumen, and the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives while ensuring customer satisfaction and profitable growth.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sr. Director to create strategic business plans for assigned regional retail accounts to achieve revenue, margin, and market share objectives.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with merchants, buyers, planners, and key customer stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing business while pursuing new opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between assigned customers and Greenworks, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution.
  • Represent customer needs internally while balancing company objectives and profitability.

 

  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Sales to develop annual account strategies, promotional calendars, pricing initiatives, and growth plans.
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, line reviews, and new product presentations.
  • Develop merchandising strategies that maximize product placement and sales performance.
  • Assist in setting annual sales, unit, and revenue goals by customer, agency, and channel.
  • Identify opportunities to increase distribution, assortment, promotional effectiveness, and overall account performance.

 

  • Partner with Forecasting, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to support accurate demand planning.
  • Provide customer-specific forecasting insights related to promotions, seasonal demand, inventory levels, and product launches.
  • Coordinate new item setup and ensure all customer onboarding documentation is completed accurately.
  • Maintain pricing files and customer information to ensure data integrity and pricing accuracy.
  • Monitor business trends and communicate risks, opportunities, and performance updates to leadership.

 

  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Customer Service, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure successful execution of customer initiatives.
  • Assist with receivable issues, chargebacks, deductions, and dispute resolution while identifying root causes for recurring issues.
  • Provide input into business P&L performance and recommend actions to improve profitability.
  • Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal programs across assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate on customer-specific solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

 

  • Ensure customer expectations are consistently met through proactive communication and follow-up.
  • Attend customer meetings, trade shows, sales events, and industry conferences as required.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Continuously identify innovative ideas and solutions that strengthen customer partnerships.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing retail or key accounts within consumer products, outdoor power equipment, durable goods, or similar industries.
  • Proven success growing customer relationships and achieving sales objectives.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience interpreting sales reports, forecasting, and business metrics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop actionable business recommendations.

 

  • Ability to travel up to 60–80% throughout the assigned Region and North America based on business needs.
  • Travel includes customer meetings, store visits, line reviews, trade shows, sales meetings, and industry events.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
  • Ability to travel by both automobile and commercial airline.

  • Operate office equipment including computers, copiers, and printers.
  • Occasionally exposed to weather elements.
