Staff/Senior Staff Engineer – Design Application Engineering (IC Design)

Infineon is looking for a passionate talent, who would be the first point of contact for project teams in case of issues and work to achieve the highest customer satisfaction. The primary goal of this position is to significantly improve the quality, efficiency, and time to market of Infineon development projects. Your Role Key responsibilities in your new role * Be responsible for supporting project teams using Infineon Design System (Flows, Design Packages, and Methodologies). * Support design methodologies across semi-custom design flows, including RTL analysis, design verification, DFT, synthesis, place and route, STA, EM/IR, and physical verification. * Identify methodology gaps and improvements and provide automation to perform all design activities in the most efficient and correct-by-construction way. * Evaluate solutions from multiple available options and perform trade-offs between technical features and cost. * Work with R&D in Infineon globally and EDA tool vendors to resolve issues across semi-custom design flows. * Coordinate with IT and EDA tool license teams to provide an infrastructure aligned with project needs. Your Profile Qualifications and skills to help you succeed * Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. (Additional VLSI design courses are a plus.) * Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in semicustom design flow and project. * Strong experience in implementation areas, including Synthesis, DFT, and PnR, as well as good exposure to signoff areas, particularly power, timing, and IR signoff. Knowledge of physical verification (DRC & LVS) is considered an advantage. * Exposure to basic version management using any of Clearcase/Perforce/Git. * Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with peers and customers in a clear and honest manner. * Openness to learning new technical areas if the need arises. * Internal drive to work with design and EDA vendors to solve issues and adopt new flows. * Capability to automate design work by means of script programming, e.g. Tcl/tk, Perl or Python. * Fluency in English.
