This is a highly visible role focused on managing complex broker compensation programs within a dynamic insurance environment.
You will oversee compensation initiatives ranging from incentive programs and profit commissions to budgeting and forecasting.

You’ll work closely with Sales & Distribution, regional leaders, and Finance to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

✓Manage and oversee complex broker compensation programs, including contingent profit commissions and incentive arrangements, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
✓Support budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, and financial reporting related to broker compensation activities.
✓Analyze financial and compensation data to identify trends, explain variances, and develop clear recommendations for business leaders.
✓Partner with Corporate Sales & Distribution, regional Sales & Distribution teams, and Finance to deliver compensation initiatives and support strategic planning.
✓Provide financial insights that help leaders understand compensation performance, forecast future requirements, and make informed business decisions.
✓Manage multiple priorities, annual planning cycles, deadlines, and deliverables while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
✓Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes, reporting, controls, and overall operational efficiency.
✓Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and communicate complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
✓Base salary range of $94,000–$142,000 CAD, with actual compensation determined by experience, skills, and alignment with the role.

Requirements

  • CPA designation with progressive experience in financial analysis, compensation programs, budgeting, or a related discipline.

  • Strong experience with advanced Excel, including financial modelling, data analysis, and complex calculations.

  • Practical experience with forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, operational budgeting, and financial reporting.

  • Knowledge of compensation, commission, incentive, or broker compensation programs.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to turn complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy across complex financial calculations and reporting.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional business partners.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work confidently through annual planning cycles and time-sensitive deliverables.

  • Insurance industry experience and a CIP designation are considered strong assets.
