Take a leading role in building next-generation agentic AI systems from the ground up, shaping the architecture and engineering practices behind autonomous, multi-step AI workflows. You will lead a team of 10–15 engineers working across large language models, agent orchestration, tool integration, and production infrastructure. This role combines strategic technical leadership with hands-on engineering involvement, from architectural decisions to code reviews and delivery oversight. You will help introduce an AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC), transforming how engineering teams design, build, test, and deploy software. You will also establish robust evaluation, observability, reliability, and safety frameworks for AI systems operating in dynamic environments. Working closely with product leaders and senior stakeholders, you will turn ambiguous business challenges into scalable, production-ready solutions while developing a high-performing engineering team.

Engineering Leadership and Team Development: Lead, manage, and grow a team of 10–15 AI and Forward Deployed Engineers responsible for developing agentic AI platforms, orchestration systems, tool-use frameworks, and evaluation pipelines. Drive recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and career development.

Technical Strategy and Architecture: Define the technical direction for autonomous AI systems, including planning loops, memory management, tool calling, multi-agent coordination, orchestration frameworks, and appropriate safety guardrails.

Agentic AI Platform Development: Oversee the design and implementation of greenfield AI systems that support autonomous, multi-step workflows, enabling agents to plan, interact with tools, and execute tasks with minimal human intervention.

AI-Driven Development Lifecycle: Lead the implementation of an AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC), introducing AI-enabled engineering practices intended to transform traditional software development and product delivery workflows across the organization.

Observability and Evaluation: Establish comprehensive monitoring, tracing, and evaluation strategies for non-deterministic AI systems. Develop evaluation harnesses and mechanisms to detect performance regressions, behavioral drift, and reliability issues.

Reliability, Security, and Safety: Define engineering standards for autonomous systems, including sandboxing, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, rollback strategies, and continuous evaluation to ensure safe and reliable production operations.

Product Collaboration and Delivery: Partner with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex, ambiguous requirements into actionable technical plans and deliverable AI-powered features.

Hands-On Technical Guidance: Remain actively involved in architecture reviews, code reviews, technical problem-solving, and implementation decisions while balancing strategic responsibilities with people management.

Cloud Infrastructure and Orchestration: Guide the development and deployment of agentic AI solutions using AWS services, including Bedrock AgentCore and Step Functions, along with supporting orchestration and hosting technologies.

Planning and Performance Management: Develop engineering estimates, monitor delivery velocity and system performance, identify technical risks, and communicate progress, trade-offs, and priorities to senior leadership.

Professional Experience: At least 12 years of software engineering experience, including a minimum of five years managing engineering teams and delivering complex technical initiatives.

Agentic AI and LLM Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience building or operating LLM-powered systems, including AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool calling, and agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or custom implementations.

AI-Driven Development Lifecycle: Proven experience implementing an AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC) that has successfully replaced or substantially transformed traditional product and software development lifecycle practices within an engineering organization.

AWS and Cloud Architecture: Excellent knowledge of AWS, particularly Bedrock AgentCore, Step Functions and Amazon States Language (ASL), as well as related services for agent hosting, workflow orchestration, and production deployment.

Harness Engineering: Strong experience with harness engineering practices for building, testing, evaluating, and operating AI-powered systems.

Observability and Evaluation Frameworks: Extensive knowledge of monitoring and tracing non-deterministic systems, building evaluation harnesses, and implementing drift detection, regression testing, and performance monitoring.

Backend Development: Practical experience developing backend services with Python and FastAPI, with the ability to guide implementation decisions and maintain high engineering standards.

Frontend Technologies: Working knowledge of React, Tailwind CSS, and Solstice, the JLL design system, to support collaboration across the application stack.

Technical Architecture and Delivery: Proven ability to design scalable systems, make sound architectural trade-offs, and deliver complex products in fast-moving environments with evolving requirements and real-world constraints.

People Leadership: Strong experience coaching engineers, developing technical talent, establishing engineering standards, and building collaborative, high-performing teams.

Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts, risks, and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.

Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate business priorities into technical strategy, estimate engineering effort, manage delivery risks, and balance innovation with reliability and operational needs.
