Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a well-established construction company seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and financial aspects of construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee cost planning, procurement, contract administration, valuations, and project financial performance while ensuring projects are delivered within budget.

• →Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
• →Manage project costs, valuations, variations, and payment applications.
• →Prepare and review tenders, quotations, and subcontractor packages.
• →Support procurement and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
• →Monitor project expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• →Administer contracts and manage commercial risks and variations.
• →Prepare regular cost and commercial reports for project management.
• →Review project progress against budgets, forecasts, and agreed timelines.
• →Maintain accurate commercial documentation and records.
• →Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
• →Ensure compliance with contractual, commercial, and company requirements.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement.
• Experience managing valuations, variations, tenders, and subcontractor accounts.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant cost management software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.

• Chartered membership or working towards RICS qualification.
• Experience with NEC, JCT, or other UK construction contracts.
• Experience working on commercial, residential, infrastructure, or major construction projects.
• Knowledge of UK construction regulations and commercial practices.
