Maintenance Technician

Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Essence Hotel Management Group. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, offices, and back-of-house areas.
• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, appliances, doors, locks, furniture, and other hotel equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and hotel facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to hotel schedules and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with maintaining hotel equipment and systems in good working condition.
• Keep mechanical, maintenance, and storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
• Monitor and report safety hazards, equipment issues, and potential property concerns.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance, exterior upkeep, and general property appearance.
• Support other hotel departments as needed.
• Follow all hotel, brand, OSHA, and safety procedures.

• Previous hotel maintenance, facilities, apartment maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a property.
• Professional and courteous communication skills.
• Ability to interact positively with guests and team members.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent service.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when needed.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull, climb, bend, kneel, and work from ladders as required.
