We like plants, people, and beautiful spaces. John Mulhall came to Omaha in 1953 to landscape, and now, three generations later, we’re as committed as we’ve ever been to making Omaha a more beautiful place to live. Today we’re a team of a few hundred people, but our focus remains the same: working together to engage our community and share our passion for the beauty of the natural world. As the Nursery Yard Lead, Sales, you’ll report to our Nursery Yard Manager and help manage the daily tasks, projects, and processes that keep the Nursery Yard looking its best. You’ll be responsible for guiding our customers in purchasing the perfect plants, championing the importance of defined processes, and serving as the expert on our Store-side tree planting process – all in line with our vision to be the most loved plant shop in the country.
- Model our Customer Journey: The 15:5 Rule, Be the Guide, Keep It Seamless, Forget-Me-Nots, and Close the Deal
- Support hiring by actively reviewing our Applicant Tracking System and moving candidates through the hiring process within set time frames
- Be the go-to person for customers with replacement or warranty questions – walking them through our plant guarantee and replacement opportunities, and following up to ensure each issue is fully addressed
- Actively manage the sub-contracted tree-planting process toward a fan-building customer experience
- Champion and help others develop job-specific training in our Learning Management System and Store Field Guide
- A belief in and passion for our purpose – beautifying our community
- 2+ years of retail experience, preferred
- The ability to manage multiple, competing priorities with a consistently positive response to pressure
- A supportive team player who anticipates problems and works collaboratively to solve them
- The ability to bend and lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions
