Consists predominantly of inside sales tasks, making outbound sales calls, generating sales leads for outside sales representatives, taking in-bound sales calls, coordinating sales contracts and logistics, providing related information to potential clients.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional conduct at all times and consistently model the organization’s values in all interactions with colleagues, guests, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Actively promote and sell Zoo picnic and group rental opportunities through inbound leads, networking, and outbound calls/emails.
  • Generate quotes, contracts and invoices.
  • Coordinating and/or providing site tours.
  • Generating leads for outside sales representatives.
  • Appeals to local hotels, planners, universities, companies and organizations regarding group ticket sales programs.
  • Manages corporate discount programs and affiliate stores.
  • Manages bulk ticket programs.
  • Assists in distribution of monthly group sales promotional campaigns.
  • Understands client needs and requirements to execute and plan the needs of private rentals, including venue, guests, programs, and catering.
  • Coordinates with catering department, events team and appropriate Zoo departments.
  • Provides Zoo representation at certain evening and weekend group events.
  • General office duties such as supply management, phone duty, copying, filing, mailings, and computer support as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to self-direct work tasks while ensuring safety and productivity.
  • Must be energetic, result and detail oriented, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with clients, guests and staff.
  • Must represent the Zoo in positive manner at all times.
  • Able to take full initiative in starting and completing tasks.
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Able and willing to work a non-standard work week, including nights and weekends and a flexible schedule.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.

 

This position primarily operates in a professional office environment and requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, as well as frequent use of a computer and other office equipment. This role may occasionally require lifting or moving materials up to 25 pounds and walking across Zoo grounds or attending outdoor events in varying weather conditions. The candidate for this role must have the ability to operate golf cart or RTV vehicle. Travel may be required for meetings, conferences, and public engagements. Visual and auditory acuity are necessary for digital media work, presentations, and public speaking. The role must learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of workflow.

Pay Range
$20.26$29 USD
  • College Degree with a minimum 3 years sales experience.
  • Ticket and group event sales experience desired
