Job Summary: The Construction Estimator is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, from initial concept to final bid submission, ensuring projects remain within budget and meet client specifications. Key Responsibilities: Cost Analysis: Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and cost factors. Quantity Takeoffs: Perform detailed measurements for materials, labor, and equipment needed. Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison: Solicit, review, and negotiate quotes from vendors and subcontractors. Budget Development: Create comprehensive cost estimates, including direct and indirect costs, overhead, and profit. Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit detailed, professional cost proposals and bids. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and owners. Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingency costs. Cost Control: Monitor ongoing projects to ensure costs align with estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities. Reporting: Prepare cost and expenditure reports for senior management. Requirements Qualifications & Skills: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs. Proficiency with estimation software (e.g., BIM, takeoff tools) and spreadsheets. Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Superior communication and negotiation abilities. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
