Backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, Peregrine helps public safety organizations, state and local and governments, federal agencies, and private-sector institutions address society’s challenges with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Our AI-enabled platform turns siloed and disconnected data into operational intelligence — instantly surfacing mission-critical information to empower better, faster decisions that improve outcomes at every touchpoint. Today Peregrine supports hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, serving more than 125 million people — and we’re amplifying our impact as we expand into the enterprise and internationally.

We’re hiring a member of our Business Operations & Strategy team, which sits in our OCEO and partners with leaders and teams across product, engineering, delivery, and GTM to enhance our operations, drive new initiatives from 0→1, and help take the company to the next level. Our model is inherently service oriented and built on the notion that good ideas are often cheap, and that execution, trust, and culture are everything. We act on everything from corporate strategy to the lowest level tactics, but the common thread is we act in service to Peregrine and its people.

Our ultimate goal with this team is to build better leaders and operators, and then turn them loose on other careers and directions – be that at Peregrine or elsewhere. This is not an up-and-out team, but it is one that believes that BizOps is often a lily pad to something more.

Responsibilities

~2 min read
  • Partner with leaders and teams across Peregrine — this could be a deployment team, a member of the leadership team, or the CEO; we operate on whatever the bottleneck to continued growth is at the company, often in the ‘highly important but not urgent’ quadrant.
  • Embed, learn, and deliver early wins — rarely do long-term efforts start a plan or a proposal, they start with deeply understanding the domain and building momentum and trust with the people you will need to partner with.
  • Deliver step-function change however necessary — build your model, run your operation, perform the job, drive your alignment, or hire your replacement: do what is necessary to solve the problem and set things up to scale, all while being a culturally accretive, collaborative, and service-oriented teammate.
  • Rotate and spin out when it is right for you — your projects might last for a few weeks or a few months. Over time, you’ll see projects across the business and build conviction for the kind of career and path you want to carve for yourself. We celebrate spin-outs from the team and see it as the ultimate sign of success.
  • Learn, grow, and support your teammates — our #1 rule is that BizOps’ers take care of other BizOps’ers; we are a team focused on growth, and we delight in the success and self-development of our teammates.
  • 4-8 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a combination of management consulting, investment banking, or private equity, plus experience in high-growth startup-like environments
  • A demonstrated history of distinctiveness and driving stellar outcomes. We care more about this than where you’ve worked: a clear and compelling spike in something–as well as the requisite character to weather a startup and be a culture carrier within and outside the team–is the most important thing we care about
  • Clear and compelling communicators and thinkers who can distill complexity into simplicity, hone in on what’s most important, and rally people around their vision.
  • A strong analytical toolkit: strong Excel stills at minimum, bonus points for SQL/Python and AI fluency
  • An entrepreneurial, self-starting mindset with a strong sense of ownership and a bias toward action
  • Low-ego and openness: an ability to introspect, consider multiple perspectives, internalize and act on feedback, and an inclination to take care of the team and others
  • Located in the San Francisco Bay Area (or willing to relocate full-time)
  • A willingness and enthusiasm for being in office 4 days a week
