Reporting to the regional Sales Engineering manager, this is a strategic pre-sales role as we accelerate our growth at this crucial stage in our company’s development.
Ping’s growth now requires repeatable success. You will have evidence of solution selling and success, with experience in architecting solutions, delivering solution driven workshops, building and delivering solution and industry demos, directly answer and help our partners in answering RFPs and RFIs, enable partner POCs or execute and defend our own POCs, and a strong ability to leverage and enable the partner community.
In order to acquire, retain and extend customer relationships, you will be a high performer who uses data, previous experience and current feedback to finesse your approach. Your mindset should be passionate, authentic and hungry, with a natural ability to be proactive and creative.
We are seeking an elite tech-savvy presales solution architect focusing on modern technology, with a passion for Identity Management / Access Management (IDM / IAM) solutions. The right candidate will have a strong integration profile and will have the ability to architect IAM infrastructures, execute complex Proof of Concepts (POCs), and conduct business and technical workshops.
As a Principal / Senior Sales Engineer in our highly successful team, you will help make an impact with an industry leading technology that is growing quickly and aggressively. You will work with an innovative and market leading team, interact with global customers and interact daily with world leading technologists. Where your focus is deeply technical working with our platform and product teams, implementing them according to the solution the customer desires, you will compliment other team members in the Sales Engineering team whose task is to transform the customer business requirements into the right solution.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Work together with the Sales, Marketing and Partner team - qualify prospects on solution fit and delivery needs
- →Work together with other team members, Product Management and Product/Platform Engineering and Support in providing the right deep technical expertise for our prospects and customers
- →Acting as a trusted advisor, bring a strong solution selling focus to delivering solution workshops, solution & platform demonstrations, Proof of Concepts and RFIs to customers and integration partners
- →Lead or assist team members in building out demos of our solutions and platform capabilities
- →Embrace the collaborative culture in Ping by helping out other team members no matter which region they are in, ensuring we succeed as a company
- →Guarantee a continuous handover between the teams when navigating between pre- and post-sales phases
- →Act as pre-sales lead for prospect opportunities working with other Ping teams and partners and Account Executive to convert the prospect into a customer
- →Able to travel up to 50% of the time
Requirements
~2 min read- At least 8-12+ years of proven experience in a presales solution architect role
- At least 5+ years of proven experience in three or more of the following industries: Banking, Insurance, Telco, Government, Retail, Media and other industries with a large-scale customer base
- Business consultative skills, ability to interface with various levels including C-suite, directors, managers, architects, developers, and engineering teams
- Ability to work with a high level of self-direction and/or collaboratively with other teams within Ping Identity
- Ability to relate proposed solution technical capabilities back to customer needs in a narrative style
- Developing and delivering technical presentations, workshops, customized demonstrations, and proof of concepts
- Experience in public speaking as a featured speaker at physical events or online webinars.
- Strong knowledge of Identity/Access Management, cybersecurity and enterprise security technologies
- Experience working with CIAM or IAM solutions in or with enterprise organizations for securing web applications, native mobile apps and API services (external or internal facing)
- Experience with installation and configuration of one or more IAM technologies from: Ping Identity, ForgeRock, Okta, Auth0, CA, Oracle, IBM, Microfocus/NetIQ, or similar.
- Working knowledge of IAM related protocols and formats such as: OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, WS-Federation, WebAuthN, FIDO, FAPI, SCIM, LDAP, Kerberos, RADIUS, JSON, XML, SQL, etc.
- Competency with coding or scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, Groovy, etc.), RESTful Web API Services, web development frameworks (HTML5, CSS, Node.js, Vue.js, React, etc.), or mobile development frameworks for iOS and Android.
- General networking concepts and technologies such as: TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SSL/TLS, mTLS, PKI, WebSocket, DNS, load balancers, proxies, network routing, etc.
- Cloud Platforms - AWS, GCP, or Azure
- DevOps deployment automation, Kubernetes and Docker platform
