We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, maintenance, installation, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, manage engineering projects, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Lead the design, review, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Develop engineering specifications, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Perform engineering analysis to improve equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate shutdowns, overhauls, and major maintenance activities.
- Review maintenance reports and identify opportunities for cost reduction and increased equipment availability.
- Plan and execute mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Prepare project schedules, budgets, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Promote a strong safety culture across engineering operations.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
- Participate in HSE audits and inspections.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Master's Degree is an advantage.
- Professional Engineering registration (GhIE or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 8–10 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- At least 3–5 years in a senior or supervisory engineering role.
- Experience in manufacturing, mining, utilities, construction, oil & gas, or heavy industry is preferred.
