Smart State Inc. is expanding!  We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to join our New Jersey‑based Product & R&D team.  If you enjoy owning complex Angular applications, turning designs into performant experiences, and partnering closely with backend and product teams, this role is a great opportunity to make a visible impact across our Digital Gaming and Fintech platforms.

📍 Location: Fort Lee, New Jersey (100% On-site)
⏰ Work Mode: Full-time, office-based (Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available)

The Role 🛠️

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you’ll be a key contributor within our iGaming web engineering team, responsible for developing and optimizing high‑traffic, high‑performance web applications using modern Angular and TypeScript.  You’ll take ownership of core frontend features, influence architecture decisions, and help define best practices that ensure a best‑in‑class user experience for thousands of daily players.

What You’ll Do 🚀

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable, high‑performance front‑end applications.
• Build and maintain complex web interfaces using Angular 18+, TypeScript, and modern tooling.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code that meets high performance and quality standards.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle from architecture and implementation to testing and documentation.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and uphold rigorous coding and performance best practices.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Backend, QA, and Product teams to deliver seamless, end‑to‑end features.
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and performance optimization techniques.

What We’re Looking For 🎯

• 5+ years of professional experience in web application development.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with modern Angular (18+ preferred).
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including advanced language features and best practices.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or similar.
• Proven ability to consume and integrate REST APIs within scalable architectures.
• Deep understanding of frontend architecture, SOLID/GRASP principles, and design patterns.
• Awareness of cross‑browser compatibility and front‑end performance optimization.
• Proficiency with modern dev tools: Git, npm, Webpack, Babel, linters.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the confidence to thrive in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

Preferred Experience ⭐

• Experience working with Nx monorepo architectures.
• Familiarity with TypeScript AST and custom code transformations.
• Experience setting up or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred).
• Working knowledge of Docker, NGINX, or Node.js.
• Strong product sense and an eye for great UX/UI design.
