Our client is a leading U.S. mechanical contractor specializing in commercial plumbing and HVAC projects across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction developments.

As their project pipeline continues to grow, they are expanding their preconstruction team with a Procurement Consultant who will support material planning, vendor coordination, and procurement activities to ensure projects are competitively priced and positioned for successful execution.

 


We are seeking a detail-oriented Preconstruction Plumbing Procurement Consultant to support procurement activities throughout the preconstruction process for commercial plumbing projects.

Working closely with estimators, project managers, warehouse personnel, vendors, and field teams, you will assist with material planning, supplier coordination, procurement tracking, pricing analysis, and project support to help ensure materials are available on schedule and within budget.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of commercial plumbing materials who enjoys coordinating multiple moving parts while contributing to successful project delivery.

 


Responsibilities

  • Review construction drawings and project specifications to support procurement planning.
  • Assist with material planning for commercial plumbing projects.
  • Support the development of procurement schedules based on project timelines.
  • Track long-lead materials and communicate potential impacts to the project team.
  • Maintain procurement logs and material tracking documentation.
  • Obtain pricing, product availability, and quotations from vendors and manufacturers.
  • Compare supplier quotations and assist with vendor evaluations.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and monitor lead times.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Support estimators during the bidding and preconstruction process.
  • Coordinate with project managers regarding procurement status and material availability.
  • Assist with submittals, product data, and procurement documentation.
  • Communicate procurement updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Support procurement activities that align with project budgets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and procurement efficiencies.
  • Assist with material forecasting and purchasing recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records to support project planning.

 


  • Experience supporting procurement activities for commercial plumbing or mechanical construction projects.
  • Knowledge of commercial plumbing materials and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience performing material take-offs.
  • Experience coordinating supplier quotations and procurement activities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
