Senior Backend Engineer (Python) - Platform

SplitMetrics is a global software company offering an ecosystem of products and services that serve as a growth engine for top mobile-first businesses worldwide. Our ecosystem includes:

• Build scalable, high-load systems in Python.

• Work with big data: adapt the product to process 200–400M+ records per day.

• Design and develop integrations with multiple external channels behind a unified, channel-agnostic data model and API.

• Ensure data quality and consistency across channels: validation, reconciliation, monitoring of freshness and completeness.

• Build and maintain data pipelines: ingestion, normalization, deduplication and backfills.

• Improve system reliability, observability and cost efficiency.

• Design, build, deploy, monitor and maintain products.

• Rewrite legacy systems with modern technologies.

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Python.

• Excellent knowledge of raw SQL.

• Experience with data stores like PostgreSQL (deep understanding of engine, performance optimization).

• Experience in building solutions based on microservices and scaling such systems.

• Experience with modern CI/CD approaches and tools.

• Experience setting up and improving the development process.

• Strong focus on business implications when making decisions on architecture.

• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes at scale.

• Experience integrating with many external APIs and designing a unified abstraction layer over heterogeneous data sources.

• Experience with analytical/columnar storage (ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).

• Experience with message brokers.

• Domain knowledge in AdTech / mobile marketing (ad networks, attribution, MMPs).

• Experience with async Python for high-throughput API ingestion.

• Experience building LLM-powered features or AI agents on top of production data.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and cloud platforms (AWS / GCP).

• Experience building MCP servers that expose platform data and actions to AI agents and LLM tools.

• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Datadog).
