The Dispatch is a member-funded publication covering politics, policy, and culture from a fact-based, conservative perspective. We launched in 2019 on a simple bet: that enough readers were tired of outrage-driven media to pay for something better. They were. More than 40,000 members now fund our reporting directly, which means we answer to them rather than social media algorithms or traffic-driven demands.

That model shapes how we sell. Our commercial business isn’t built on impression volume. Partnerships are customized around editorial verticals—energy, national security, family, faith, legal—and developed with organizations interested in reaching our audience of thoughtful and conscientious readers and listeners.

The Dispatch is hiring a Commercial Operations Specialist to own the execution of our commercial partnerships. This is not a sales role. Once a partnership is signed, this person will own what comes next: campaign setup, creative and script workflow, delivery, reporting, and the day-to-day partner servicing that turns a first campaign into a renewal.

Our commercial portfolio spans newsletter sponsorships, podcast advertising, SCOTUSblog, events, and more. Campaigns can range from one week to one year or longer, each with its own creative, schedule, delivery targets, and reporting requirements. Precision matters in this work, and it compounds. We’re looking for someone who can own it without day-to-day oversight—a well-organized candidate with a bias toward action who finds satisfaction in a well-built system and a quarter where nothing slipped.

The role is based in Washington, D.C. (hybrid). This role benefits from close, in-person collaboration with our team, and we have a strong preference for candidates who can work from our office. We’ll consider exceptional remote candidates.

    • Own the tracking systems that serve as the source of truth for active and upcoming campaigns

    • Maintain a live view of available inventory across our platforms, and flag conflicts early

    • Configure, launch, and quality-check campaigns in our advertising platforms

    • Monitor delivery, coordinating adjustments with internal teams and vendor partners

    • Turn partner talking points into clean, on-brand advertising copy, and manage it through review and approval

    • Review creative before it goes live for accuracy and brand-safety standards

    • Serve as the coordination point between partners, our internal team, and outside vendors

    • Monitor and evaluate partnership performance, providing regular insight and reporting to partners

    • Work with our finance team to reconcile campaign delivery against contracted commitments and prepare billing reports

    • Build post-campaign reporting that supports renewal conversations

    • Act as the primary contact for a defined book of partners, holding a high standard of service across the full partnership lifecycle: assets, timelines, logistics, approvals, scheduling, and wrap materials

    • Manage product and talent logistics for endorsement-based campaigns

    • Own and improve the processes, trackers, and tooling that keep all of the above running

  • What we're asking for
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • One or two years in operations, campaign management, account coordination, project management, or a comparable detail-heavy role—ideally at a small or fast-moving organization.

    • Familiarity with podcast advertising, digital advertising, or event sponsorship

    • Hands-on experience with ad-serving, podcast-hosting, or campaign-management platforms

  • Health insurance, 401(k) match, disability coverage, equity participation, and additional standard benefits.
