About the Role The Staff Pad has partnered with a reputed hospital in Helena, MT and we’re looking for a passionate, dependable culinary professional who takes pride in preparing delicious, high-quality meals that make a difference in people’s lives. As part of our healthcare dining team, you’ll help create safe, nutritious, and comforting meals for patients, guests, and staff while supporting our mission of exceptional and compassionate care. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, values teamwork, and wants to grow their culinary skills in a meaningful setting. From patient meals to special events and upscale catering, every day brings variety and purpose. What You’ll Do Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and food safety standards Manage meal recipe operations by selecting recipes, ordering ingredients and supplies, preparing and evaluating dishes for quality, and maintaining approved recipes for future reference. Use a variety of cooking techniques including roasting, grilling, steaming, poaching, baking, dicing, pureeing, weighing, and measuring Ensure meals meet quality, presentation, and therapeutic dietary requirements Taste and evaluate foods before service to ensure flavor and consistency standards are met and take action to improve flavor where necessary Use standardized recipes to follow and complete production sheets, accurately documenting quantities prepared and leftovers for each meal. Properly covers, labels, and dates all food items for storage while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation throughout the work area. Demonstrates strong knowledge of quality food production practices. Retrieving required food quantities from storage areas and notify the supervisor of low inventory or needed supplies. Delivers high-quality customer service in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment Promptly reports faulty equipment and unsafe conditions to the supervisor to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Follow all food safety, sanitation, hazardous waste, and workplace safety procedures Demonstrate competency and support patient meal service as well as special events and catering functions Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and healthcare team members to deliver excellent customer service What Makes You a Great Fit Passion for cooking and serving others Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and safety Ability to multitask and thrive in a team-oriented environment Flexible and dependable with availability for occasional weekends, holidays, and shift coverage Comfortable following recipes, measuring ingredients, and performing basic kitchen math Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow Qualifications At least 1 year of cooking or food preparation experience preferred Healthcare, hospitality, or institutional food service experience is a plus Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and food safety standards gained through formal culinary and food safety training.
