General Summary:
Analyze and implement kaizen with TPS philosophy. Lead kaizen activities to focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Chosen team member will remain in the Kaizen department for a period of two years, depending upon performance. Candidate will return to their home department after the assignment has ended.

Essential Job Functions:

A. Implement TPS methods and techniques to establish the most efficient processes and procedures.

B. Lead kaizen activities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

C. Analyze new and existing work processes and develop improvement plans in accordance with quality and engineering standards.

D. Support production operations to ensure on time delivery to the customer.

E. Update and schedule Kaizen activities using MS Office software to create charts, graphs, and additional Kaizen reports.

F. Perform functions such as instructions and demonstrating new processes to team members.

G. Provide sustaining engineering as needed and ensure the safety, quality guidelines and ergonomic principles are observed.

H. Develop and maintain time studies and yamazumi charts.

I. Design and fabricate jigs, racks, and tables used in manufacturing for Kaizen activities.

J. Ability to work flexible hours as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum of 6 months experience in production or PC
Requires experience in the assessment of training needs and the development of programs to meet those needs.
Must have experience working with problem solving teams and training associates.

Understanding of the manufacturing processes and the support services necessary for associates
Positive leadership skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
Excellent organization skills
Understand the organizational structure and terminology
Must be knowledgeable of company products, design specifications, quality standards, procedures and equipment.
Excellent communication skills
Must be familiar with budgets and costing
Must be creative and innovative
Analytical thinking, judgment and problem solving skills are required
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and implement projects
Close mental concentration and attention to detail are required
Ability to sit, stand, bend and lift 30 pounds.
Possess mechanical knowledge and be skilled in the use of power tools.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).
