The Regional Medical Operations Coordination Center (RMOCC) is a centralized coordination model designed to enhance real-time visibility, communication, and decision-making across EMS agencies, hospitals, public health partners, and emergency management stakeholders. The RMOCC supports regional load balancing, facilitates patient placement, and enables coordinated responses during routine operations and emergency events.

Kentucky is currently in the initial stages of RMOCC development, with foundational planning, stakeholder engagement, pilot design, and implementation activities underway. The model is being developed in collaboration with state and regional partners to establish sustainable statewide healthcare coordination capabilities.

The RMOCC Program Manager at the University of Louisville supports the RMOCC Director in the development, implementation, and operation of Kentucky's Regional Medical Operations Coordination Center. This position serves as a key operational leader responsible for daily coordination activities, stakeholder engagement, implementation of communication and coordination technologies, program administration, and operational readiness activities.

The RMOCC Program Manager works closely with hospitals, EMS agencies, healthcare systems, public health departments, and emergency management partners to support healthcare coordination, optimize patient movement, and improve situational awareness across the Commonwealth. The position serves as the Director's designee when needed and assists in maintaining readiness for both routine and emergency operations.
