The Business Development Manager – Space Electronics, will develop and execute business development plans. They will create, advance, and win recuring business with new and existing customers, drive bookings (sales), increase revenue, and position the business for robust growth in alignment with financial objectives. They will serve as a vested member of the Voyager Space Electronics team, marketing and selling electronic components to position Voyager as a key enabler of emerging satellite constellations. They will engage customers from the US Federal Government, allied nations, foreign and domestic industrial base vendors, and developers of the emerging space economy, to empower requirements. This role reports to the Senior Director of Business Development – Space Electronics.
In this role, the essential functions are:
- Develops and executes near and long-term business development strategies/campaigns to drive business opportunities in alignment with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Strategic Plan objectives to meet or exceed AOP Bookings.
- Tracks emerging markets and trends; proposes and develops solutions including new offerings or strategic partnerships to address evolving competition, pricing, and demand.
- Empowers line of business and collaborates with technology development team, product development team, finance, marketing, as well as with other Voyager stakeholders, to yield sustainable long-term business growth.
- Engages customers and vendors to understand and shape pre-solicitation efforts. Fulfills requests for information (RFI), requests for proposals (RFP), and other partner and customer requests.
- Executes Pursue, Bid, and Proposal process. Maintains pristine pipeline hygiene reporting.
- Fosters an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.
Requirements
~3 min read- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or management fields; master’s degree in business administration or engineering preferred.
- 5+ years executing product sales, business development, or growth efforts within a technology, defense, or aerospace company; experience with communications, guidance, navigation and control and/or compute space electronics products is preferred
- Experience executing business development activities, including briefing executive leadership.
- Ability to distill complex technical, programmatic, or business topics into clear, concise executive-level messaging and briefings that enable efficient decision-making.
- Demonstrated attention to detail with a strong commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work products, proposals, presentations, and customer communications with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate business development workflows, including opportunity research, proposal development, customer correspondence, gate review preparation, and cross-functional pipeline management in a fast-paced, multi-program environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate with prospective customers and clients, partners, vendors, and the press.
- Must possess or have the ability to secure a Secret Department of War Security Clearance
Travel, Physical and/or Government Mandated Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time to meet business objectives
The good faith base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $150,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
