The Institutional Services Assistant/Kitchen Helper, in conjunction with other assistants and under the direction of a supervisor, cleans dishes, the kitchen area, food preparation equipment, and utensils. The Institutional Services Assistant also removes trash while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.

Maintains kitchen work areas, floors, equipment, or utensils.

Uses and stores chemical and cleaning supplies.

Sorts and removes trash, placing it in designated pickup areas and clean/line garbage containers.

May perform other duties as assigned.
